Irena Zalewska, M.D.

Irena Zalewska, MD, is board-certified in gastroenterology and a highly respected physician who proudly serves her patients at G.I. Medicine Associates, P.C. in St. Clair Shores and Macomb, Michigan.

Dr. Zalewska earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, and finished her residency in internal medicine at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She continued her training, completing a fellowship in gastroenterology at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Zalewska is a diplomate of internal medicine. She is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and Michigan State Medical Society.

Respected for her knowledge and expertise, she has been a presenter and publisher of original papers and abstracts on many topics in gastroenterology and internal medicine. She also speaks fluent Polish.
